Which size should I choose?
The 300ml is 10oz — the perfect size for a flat white, cappuccino or standard latte, which are the most popular café drinks in Australia. It also fits under most home coffee machines, so you can brew straight into the mug and walk out the door. The 400ml is a larger 13.5oz serve, better suited to big lattes, long blacks, cold drinks with ice, or anyone who just likes a bigger coffee. Both sizes have the same features, the same lid and the same beautiful colours. If you're still not sure, think about what you usually order at a café — if it's a flat white or cap, go 300ml. If it's a large latte or you love cold drinks, go 400ml.
Does bamboo affect the taste of my drink?
No — and this is one of our favourite things about these mugs. Unlike some plastics that can leave a chemical taste or smell, bamboo fibre is naturally taste-neutral. Your coffee, tea, cold drink or whatever you're sipping will taste exactly as it should. No bamboo flavour, no aftertaste, nothing. Just a clean, fresh drink every time.
Is it really spill proof?
Yes. The lid features a re-sealable twist-top bamboo lid and a no-drip silicone locker that locks the opening shut when you're not sipping. When the locker is engaged it seals the mug securely, so you can set it down, move around and sip with confidence. It takes about a second to click it shut and becomes second nature very quickly.
How long does it keep drinks hot?
Our bamboo travel mugs are designed for fill-and-drink convenience rather than all-day heat retention. They'll keep your coffee comfortably warm for around 30 minutes, which is perfect for the morning commute, a drive between campsites, or a coffee at the picnic table. If you're looking for a mug that keeps drinks hot for hours, a vacuum-insulated stainless steel thermos is better suited for that job. Our mugs are all about style, sustainability and a great-tasting drink right when you want it.
Can I take it to a café and get it filled by a barista?
Yes, and both sizes work well — just remove the lid before you hand it over. The 300ml is compact enough to sit directly under most group heads, so the barista can pull the shot straight into the mug, just like a standard café cup. The 400ml is taller, so the barista will make the coffee and pour it in rather than brewing directly into the cup — which is completely standard practice for larger reusable cups. Most cafés are happy to fill a reusable cup, and many offer a small discount for bringing your own.
How do I clean it, and will it stain?
The mug is dishwasher safe on the top rack, which makes cleaning easy. We recommend rinsing it out promptly after use to prevent any coffee or tea staining, especially if you're leaving it for a while between washes. If staining does occur, a gentle scrub with baking soda and warm water works well. Please never put it in the microwave — the heat can warp the lid and affect the integrity of the mug.
