Most travel laundry bags are made from basic polyester or cotton. We chose reinforced Nylon Ripstop, the same fabric used in parachutes, military gear and expedition backpacks, because on the road your gear needs to keep up.

What size laundry bag do I need for a caravan trip?

For a week-long trip, you want something that expands to hold a full family load - not just a few shirts. Our expandable caravan laundry bag goes from 70cm (compact, great for couples) to 90cm (expanded, fits sheets and towels too). It's the one size that covers both a weekend away and a month on the road.
Where does a hanging laundry bag actually hang in a caravan?

Anywhere with a hook, rod or rail - and there are more of those in a caravan than you'd think. Our customers hang theirs on wardrobe rods, bathroom door hooks, bunk bed rails, s-hooks on wardrobe walls, and even over the back of the bathroom door. The reinforced handles are wide enough to loop over most standard rods without slipping.
Is a dirty clothes bag the same as a laundry bag?

Yes - a dirty clothes bag, travel laundry bag and travel washing bag all refer to the same thing: a bag to collect worn clothes while travelling, until you reach a laundromat or washing machine. Ours doubles as a storage bag for bedding and pillows when you don't need it for laundry.
Can I use it as a storage bag for pillows and blankets?

Absolutely - and this is one of our customers' favourite uses for it. When the caravan's in storage between trips, the bag is perfect for keeping spare pillows, blankets and bedding dust-free and fresh. The breathable Nylon Ripstop lets air circulate so nothing goes musty, while the tight weave keeps dust out. It's especially handy if you're storing your van between the caravanning seasons, or travelling through dusty areas like the Red Centre where keeping bedding protected makes a real difference.
Can I put the bag itself in the washing machine?

Yes. The Nylon Ripstop fabric is fully machine washable on a cold cycle. When the bag needs a freshen-up - especially after outback trips - toss it in with your load. It comes out clean, keeps its shape, and is ready for the next adventure.
Will the screen-printed design fade over time?

Screen printing on Nylon Ripstop is durable and holds its colour well through repeated cold-cycle washing. Avoid hot washes and tumble drying to keep the print looking its best - the same care you'd give any quality printed fabric.
