Fisher Caravans

Fisher Caravans

You won’t see many English built caravans here in Australia, whatever the brand. But when you do, they would stand out due to their luxurious, polished wooden panelling and plush interiors. Some even have a gas furnace!

So, you’re probably just as likely to spot a *Drop Bear as you would a Fisher caravan on Australian roads…. but it’s always worth a try!

* Drop Bears – mythical creatures likened to giant, carnivorous koalas that were apparently invented to scare tourists. Campers beware!

Sunliner Caravans

Sunliner Caravans

If you grew up in Australia somewhere between the 1950’s and 1970’s, chances are you would know the Sunliner. Possibly the most iconic Australian van at the time, Sunliner Caravans was started by Bert Tickner, a clever, determined man, who had a knack for small business.
Viscount Caravans

Viscount Caravans

Not only do I remember staying in one as a child, I also chose the Viscount caravan to be part of our Van Go Collections because it’s such an iconic Australian brand. One of my favourites, the Viscount 1968 Ambassador, with its distinctive ‘lightning flash’ or ‘twin flash’ design, features in our Winter Collection, and the 1978 Supreme Pop Top, with its fabulous pop-up roof, is part of our Magical Mornings range.
